Dear Belizeans,

It is with deep regret that we must inform you of a disruption to the system of printing of Belizean passports. The Immigration and Nationality Department is in the process of upgrading the passport issuance system but is experiencing technical difficulties is temporarily unable to produce any new passports. As such, the Immigration and Nationality Department, and by extension, the Belize High Commission will be temporarily unable to accept and process passport applications.

No applications are being accepted for renewals. Instead, you will be asked to complete an application for a 1 year extension on your existing passport. In emergency cases (and for first time applicants), you may apply for a Temporary Passport, valid for one year. In this case, you will need to go through the regular passport application process, except that you will not be required to visit London to submit Bio-metrics. A Temporary Passport is not machine-readable.

We sincerely regret that we are unable to offer this vital service at this time and will do what we can to make the process as simple as possible for you. Please contact us at consularservices@belizehighcommission.co.uk to obtain a copy of the extension application form or if you have any questions.
